...would this make them LOL...
My loan officer called today to lock in my mortgage rate (5.25%!!!! I was given a .25% reduction because of my excellent credit - holy moly, hip, hip, hooray!!! ). She asked for $500 for the appraisal, which eventually goes toward my down payment, and she said I could do it by check, credit card, money order, whatever. I thought for a minute, because anytime CC is an option, if I can use my Discover card, I do it. So I said, well, if we can do it over the phone, I'll just give you my CC number, and I did. So I'll transfer that $500 from my down payment savings right now to pay off the charge, and when my Discover billing cycle closes, I'll be getting 1% back from what is just part of my down payment anyway. Hooray!
The only bummer money news? My sunglasses broke, but they only cost me $2.12 last year. With the $5 I'll get back on that credit card charge, I can buy another pair. ;-)

I love it :) I use my Discover to pay for school every semester. I end up getting reimbursed by my employer, and earn some giftcards or cash-back that way.
